If I go forward with them, my setup will be 245/40 315/30 (a combo I haven't seen much of with an 8.5" front while researching).

Cheers
Could you tell me where I could buy a pr of 245/40's?
Thanks

I have a set of NT01's that were purchased in August. They are 235/40 and 315/30. They are new and have never been mounted. Unfortunately, I won't be getting to the track before spring of 2015, so if someone is in a pinch... I'm in southern Oregon

PM me if interested.

(Edited to add my location)

Does anyone have an explanation as to why there is a shortage of tires???? I had a hard time finding tires in the early part of Summer. Now, it's almost Halloween and there is still a shortage. The business side of me is having a hard time grasping why companies would not fulfill a demand in the market.

I remember a shortage of toyo RR tires right after the Tsunami that hit Japan a couple years ago, but nothing like this. A major ingredient in making tires, oil, is in plentiful supply and has steadily gone down in price from about $105 per barrel in the summer to about $80 today... Maybe someone from Tire Rack or Phil's tires can provide so insight.

My conspiracy theory says that Nitto is making a ton more margin on their off road tires (that they are also investing a massive amount of marking $ in) which are supposedly cheaper to make and a lot less complex than the NT01. It takes time to reconfigure the manufacturing line, and they under-estimated the demand, but making a swap until the next planned run doesn't make sense due to the first point.

I learned my lesson, buy 3-4 sets at a time.

That's a good deal. Those look almost new. After 2 track days my NT01s are slicks...

I gave up looking for new NTs for my 7.1 so picked up some take-off Perrelli slicks... Will report back in a month back at SearsPoint.
