Default GT2 test drive

Hello everyone!

I picked up our new Macan S last Thursday evening but earlier in the week went into the dealer to finalize the paperwork.
The salesman was busy and I spent the time drooling over a 2002 GT2 sitting on the showroom floor.
Eventually the salesman came over, good guy, that also sold us the Cayenne many years ago.
He asked if I would like to take the car for a drive!
Well 5 minutes later, I was sitting in the drivers seat of this Beast that the previous owner had traded in for a Panamera. (I guess his need for hyperspeed are behind him)
The GT2 has been modified with a 100 cel racing cats, Evoms CAI, and a flash but he couldn't tell me from whom.
I drove about 20 miles in traffic to finally get to a low traffic highway north of the city. He said "nail it" which I of course obliged...OMGGGGGG!
I have previously driven a 2006 Turbo so I had some idea of what boost feels like and I would say up to about 60/70MPH this was very similar, BUT, then the feeling was like nothing that I have ever ever felt before, the acceleration was so hard and so fast and just kept building.
My soul is lost and I cannot stop dreaming about this car. The feeling is simply intoxicating and I want to feel this everyday.
I got back into my Carrera (which is one of the quickest Carrera's I have driven) and at first, I thought my clutch was broken it was so light compared to the GT2! My Carrera is just a fabulous car especially with the X74 suspension but OMG what a car this GT2 is.
Give me reasons not to mortgage my soul and buy this car.
Pete

Pete, don't mortgage your soul, but buy the car. Boost is just plain wonderful. If you love the car, you will not stop dreaming about it.

Yes, they informed me up front about the paint and I know the shop that did the work called Auto Bugatti here in Montreal, they mostly work on high end stuff so I am not concerned about that aspect.

The doors close fine but the windows don't seal against the upper weatherstripping and are noisy at higher speeds.
I believe that is an easy adjustment to realign the window angles adjustment inside the doors which
they will do.

The repaint was apparently caused by the ex-wife keying the entire car.

Interesting how this story is developing!

Anyway, if I move forward it will be with full due diligence and many things need to be agreed on and in writing from the dealers side.

Thanks for this info and any more that anyone has would be appreciated.
It's good to look out for each other on these Rennlist sites.

Good advice!
I know just the guy to do the PPI if I decide to go further with this.
It's a combination of that damn boost and the exclusivity of owning a car that can seriously bite you on the a$$ which keeps bringing me back to consider it.

Well!
Someone beat me to the punch so whoever it is.....enjoy the very abundant horsepower!!
If you are on Rennlist, tell us what you think.
Hope that you managed to negociate all the little fixes it needed.
Pete

I have no doubt that I will still end up with one sooner rather than later but I will now have the 3.4 massaged onto a stage II platform by Flat 6 probably over the winter.
