Default New suspension bits

I have had a front suspension issue for a long time (Threads 1 and 2) and finally this winter I found the reason for the issue, see thread 2. While being there I thought that it would be handy to do dome upgrades and now front suspension parts are almost finished.

I have a friend who runs a small machine shop and a Porsche parts store and I've been helping him in developing 996/7 parts line.

Below's pics of my new front suspension parts and Antti's products.
-a new front wheel carrier
-refurbished 996 Cup front shock
-steering rack from a 996 RSR (old one was leaking)
-9products track rod with bump steer correction
-9products solid trailing arm block (eccentric)
-9products monoball control arm inner end.

All four control arms do have those monoballs, rear upper control arms will be adustable with monoballs as well as rear track rods. I'm still waiting for my subframes from a (other) machine shop before starting the actual installation.

Yes. Measurements are from rbahr's Descent into Madness vol I. I'm ready to claim that it's the way they were done at Weissach too.

How many turns do you get out of that RSR rack?

With steering angle restrictors removed as many as from OEM. Actually no difference whatsoever, eg the casting# is just the same...part number for ordering it is diifferent because of restrictors. Which are separate aluminium pieces at both ends of the rack.

Thanks!

I must clarify one thing about that rack. My car's a '00, so there might be a case with newer racks being slower than these two. 360 deg of steering wheel throws rack 50mm out. With restrictors the wheel turns about 550 deg, without about 1080 deg. (WSM states 2.98 turns from lock to lock)
Restrictor width is 35mm.

So the rear subframes were machined to move all the suspension pickup points higher in the chassis (by milling the top, the mounting surfaces)?

Some notes to pics above. Cup rear shock is so short that a spacer is requred between chassis and the upper mount to get sensible (=GT3 street ) ride height. Rear bump stop is from .7 GT3RS and dust boot's an universal Bilstein. As you can see, those machined subframes do fit in there.

I got them made when that Cup suspension was installed for the first time 4 years ago. They just were re-anodized now. But I guess the shop that made those for me can easily do more of them.

I got a front lip from dp motorsport. Perfect fit, not so perfect pic below. Bumper vents are DIY, according to dervish's and OZ951's instructions. No airflow downwards, center rad flows up, main rads to wheelwells.

997 GT3's flat bottom fits 996 too, only minor mods needed. Also a pic below.
