However, we autocross it in the summer, but sites to autocross here are few, and I don't want to be the cause of them losing the site for too much noise.
My options are limited because of my stubbornness to not permanently ruin the exhaust (I think I told the wife I didn't want it neutered) because we like the sound of it.
I haven't gotten any tickets as of yet for noise violations or anything.
I bought the car with it the way it sits. It has a fabspeed intake, and I am not sure the manufacturer of the exhaust.
I thought about a supertrapp, turndown pipes, making a baffle(it would probably look like crap). Looking for removable after events.
Anyone have any other options? Could end up buying a whole new exhaust, but I like the sound of this one. Can anyone identify the exhaust for me? Had the car about 1 year.
Pics and a Vid(ripped this from a users instagram that showed for the event) for reference.

Hopefully this plays for you.

As stated that's Fabspeed x-pipe with muffler bypass pipes. If you want to tame It down some pick any side muffler that meets your needs and put them on there.

A lot of people that hear it love the sound too. They say that is the way a Porsche should sound.
My 6 y/o Grandson likes it because it is loud also. It has been nicknamed "The Banshee". We backed out one day on our way to race and he told the wife "The Banshee is loose" She lost it.....

Default Speedtech exhaust.

[

I recently bought a complete Speedtech 996 GT3 exhaust. Cats, mufflers, X pipe and Lemans tips. The system sounds great from the outside and inside. I had a friend do drive by and was impressed with sound. I am going back to the track in a few weeks and look forward to seeing the improvement 50 lbs less weight out back makes. Got the car realigned and corner balanced.

the install is not bad if you do it once however I am not a mechanic and this is the first time working on a 911. The directions were not good. The removal of original systems was right but the install directions were mostly wrong and based on a different iteration. Also not being particularly well versed in 02 sensors I managed to install them wrong 2 x making me have to remove the system and reinstall 3 times. If there was a 50% chance to get it right each time I picked the wrong one.

anyhow these are how I would update the install. 6 easy updates to the instructions would help others so much.

1.Install right side pipe to header.

2.Blue wired 02 sensor goes into the upstream precat pipe.

3.Hold right cat with bungle on the left and install BLACK wired 02 sensor and install on right precat pipe.

4.Install X pipe does not matter orientation all sides are equal length.

5.Install Black wired 02 sensor into left cat with bungle on right and mount cat on X pipe.

6.Install left precat pipe. Install Blue wired 02 sensor into the upstream precat pipe.

The muffler installation with brackets and tips is fine.

UOTE=ex10psi;10946038]another happy speedtech exhaust owner here. i highly recommend... totally modular, you can go straight pipe muff delete or put the small muffs, very quick and easy. same concept for cats, delete or inline.

i have the small inline muffs and straight pipe in place of cats, works perfect, loud on the track but sounds a lot better and not as loud as bypass pipes (ie: fabspeed).

excellent quality, good price, awesome customer service. no affiliation, just a happy customer[/QUOTE]

I also enjoyed my speedtech system.
Yes to OP.
Due to post cat location differences between stock and speedtech, it could be easy to misconnect O2 sensors.
I had to buy post cat sensors with extra long leads to make it work.

What happens if the O2 sensors are connected onto the wrong banks?

so as I said I did this wrong 2 times. First I oriented the cat with it's 02 bungle on the wrong side. That meant that both 02 sensors were upstream and after a short period of time the CEL came on. The code is P0132 02 sensor high voltage bank one sensor 1.

So I pulled the exhaust and flipped the cat around so the 02 sensor was now downstream. Well after clearing the code and going for another ride CEL came on again. Same code! so I checked and realized that the longer blue 02 sensor needs to go upstream and the shorter black wired 02 sensor goes in the cat downstream! Off came the Speedtech again.

So seems the 3rd time is a charm and the reason a rewrote the directions to try to help the next DIY idiot avoid my mistakes. Can't believe with a 50%/50% on 2 instances I got it wrong each time.

Also I thought maybe I could simply change the connections up top but you can't as the upstream and downstream 02 have different keys so you can't mix up the connections.....

I've been looking for a dundon exhaust (love the tone) for a few months and have had no luck. Looks like no one wants to sell theirs... Do you guys know of an exhaust system that has a similar sound?

I have just fitted a cup exhaust which has integrated cats in the mufflers and so now I am only running two O2 sensors, that being upstream (i.e. pre-cat) - one for left side and one for the right side. The tech who did the install has run the blue wire on the right side of the engine bay to the right side of the exhaust, and vice versa for the left side. Is this incorrect? I have heard the right side engine bay wire needs to go to the O2 sensor on left side of the exhaust, and left side engine bay wire to O2 sensor on the right side of the exhaust. Can anyone confirm this? Since I picked the car up today it is fine at WOT however when sitting at a light for more than 2 mins the idle becomes rough and the power delivery is not happy at part throttle when cruising at low speed. I wondered if the O2 sensors being wired up incorrectly may have caused this? I have no CEL however the have installed O2 spacers which have catalyst material in them, which may be preventing the CEL?
