Took My 63 to Laguna Seca Yesterday

I am going to work on getting on the throttle earlier. I am still worried about getting on the gas too early but getting more comfortable with the car on every lap. Going to Thunderhill this coming Friday so we'll see how I do there.
What a great track. You may be able to get lower times if you can get the car rotated a little earlier before each turn. You are passing the apex before you are on the throttle. If you can be on full throttle as you pass the apex, you will get better exit speed which will give you better times on the following straights.

Without any nannies, i think I've become a much smoother driver who is much more aware of what I need to do to not crash.
Loving the car and just want to improve on my lap time every time I am out. My car has 50k+ miles so I am wondering if I should revalve/refresh the shocks and go with slightly stiffer springs.

Refresh the shocks and try 600F/800R for street/track and 800F/1000R for dedicated track car...makes a big difference. They are great cars I miss having mine....

Had a great time at Laguna Seca yesterday. My best time was around 1:48. Here's the video of the lap before. Love to get advice on how to lower lap time.
My car is pretty much stock with the exception of Guards LSD and was properly aligned based on Kussumaul settings. Tires are ADO8.

Do you know where I can buy the 600/800 springs? I've looked online and just not sure which ones are the right ones. If anyone has part number, please let me know. Ready to get this done before a PCA event in November back at Laguna Seca.

I had mine done at Chris Smith when I was at Road Atlanta, any of the local race shops should be able to get them. Springs aren't very expensive but the labor to replace them and then set the car up again is most of the bill....

the 7 was schedule to see tony, then some subway mogul bought it from me.
yes, earlier on throttle. i know what to do, i just can't do it. early throttle scares me.

i dont ask what he does anymore. it's just better and faster.
i wouldn't say it's MISTAKE to let you drive it. more like making me realize after you and tony drove my cars, i really should hang it up and just go ride my bike with my kids instead.

Do more laps under your belt. 6 stock is plenty fast as is. Once u plateau your abilities with stock 6 when it feels sloppy- time to work on suspension. Had the privilege of driving Mooty's stripper- no slop laterally and fully dialed in. Awesome car when I drove it. Mike

You have to learn to drive the car off of the rear end not the front. Early throttle + Functional LSD and a little bit of experience really opens your eyes to what these things are capable.. Chuck's tips are spot on, I learned more from riding and talking with him than from any other single source when getting up to speed in my car.

I had a 6GT3 with cup diff, close ratio gear box, Motons, 800/1000 springs, Hooters, IPD plenum, 7GT3 throttle, free flowing exhaust, Girodisc..etc, etc. I let a friend drive it at Chuckwalla and he went the same speed as he did in his stock GT3...
