Default Took My 63 to Laguna Seca Yesterday

Had a great time at Laguna Seca yesterday. My best time was around 1:48. Here's the video of the lap before. Love to get advice on how to lower lap time.

My car is pretty much stock with the exception of Guards LSD and was properly aligned based on Kussumaul settings. Tires are ADO8.

Respectable laptime. 1st time there? Best laptime in a 6 but on motons and kuhmo 710's was high 1:36. Typical stock gt3 times 141-144. Your rolling if u go below 1:40. Do not see video link. Mike

My first sessions at Laguna (and first track day in 996GT3) I was putting around doing over 1:50s. By track day #3, 1:41 on Nitto NT-01.

1:36s are possible, but you have to be a lunatic behind the wheel (right, John?)

Ha. Thought this was about a '63--like a T-6. Wasn't too long ago that you'd have a handful out at a DE.

(Wish I had time to blow off a weekday to go down and instruct....coach in HOD speak......anymore. )

I put the embed code in. How does one properly post a youtube clip?

This was my first time at Laguna Seca with the GT3. Wish I was there today too.

What a great track. You may be able to get lower times if you can get the car rotated a little earlier before each turn. You are passing the apex before you are on the throttle. If you can be on full throttle as you pass the apex, you will get better exit speed which will give you better times on the following straights.

Best I've done in a 6 is 39.1 with Motons & Hooters, 36's is 6cup times...anything in the low 40's in a stock 6 is rockin....

I agree with Chuck, earlier on the throttle....
