Default GT3 pulls to the right under acceleration...thoughts?

Our 04 GT3 is a daily driver, not a track car so it gets a lot of highway and street drive time (42,000 miles in 27 months of ownership). Recently, I thought the alignment went all wacky because it felt VERY squirrely and not stable at all. Alignment is very mild street and raised to the top of the recommended range by Porsche so I can get in my driveway (but still scrapes the lip every time in and out).

I was driving it yesterday and really trying to focus on what its' doing. turns out, every time you touch the gas pedal, it pulls pretty hard to the right. Let off, it 'bounces' back straight. If I coast, it feels fine, but touch the gas just a little and it pulls right. You'd be amazed how much you touch/feather the gas on a highway and every time you apply even the slightest throttle, it upsets the car.

Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?

I am guessing that one of the rear tires is losing air..

I thought that too...both are even and at spec. All four are.

have you had the diff replaced with a correct Guards device, right there is probably main cause of 'pull' when on and off the gas, they're utterly useless after few thousand miles.

geo, these cars a super sensitive to it, if its drifted out of whack car will behave strangely when provoked ie 'on off' gas.

worn bushes, inner or outer lower 'coffin' arm bushes need to be in good condition.

By experience... uneven tire wear at back or even different years of manufacture.
Change to new tires at back and it will go away.

All 4 are new with about 700 miles on them.

700 miles is not a lot, the only time I have had this effect is with new tyres when they were cold.

Try a good country road run with bends for 50 miles and then try the acceleration/deceleration on a straight.

If it still does it take the tyres back.

What make are they?

Yeah, put more miles on the tires and see if it goes away.

When I picked up a screw and replaced just one rear tire (the other was fairly new), the car practically turned into the neighboring lane under acceleration.

Problem is, this just started a couple weeks ago. been fine until then.

And now that I say the 700 miles, it's more. took a trip last month up to the Tail of the Dragon and put over 500 miles just that day on it. Ran perfect. Wife started noticing that the car felt funny and thought the alignment was off. I took it over to get it checked, and it's all the same as before.

And when I say pulls, I mean hard. Step hard on the gas and it will change lanes. Let off and it straightens out. Again, I thought it was an alignment issue thinking it was just tracking all over the place, only until I really paid attention did I notice is was when you touch the throttle.

I'll get it on a lift next week (Leaving for Mid Ohio Club Race tomorrow night) and see if anything is loose or broken.

Wheel bearings? Any noise? Hard on the brakes does it track straight? Mike

Have you swapped right side (F&R) to left side to see if it still does the same thing. Had it happen to me with brand new tires and the it turned out one rear was a defective tire. If you swap and replicate the to the other side, tires would be the culprit. If not, then I would probably narrow it to either toe change (only a few places on the toe arm to fail) or LSD shot.

My first thought is to have the car's alignment checked.

However, if it passed that inspection, then maybe a defective tire?

I know that some have mentioned a bad LSD, but I have 82,000 miles on my original LSD and it may not work anymore, but it never pulls right or left under full acceleration.

^+1..LSD/differential functionality has near 0% effect on a car pulling to one side under acceleration except situations where traction is limited, could be a tire issue, but is most likely an issue related to rear toe change from worn toe-links or other bushings being worn and allowing the toe geometry to change

I'll swap tires R&L next week and get it on the lift to see if there are any worn/loose fittings/bushings. We'll check bearings too, but I'm pretty sure they're fine - no noise or braking anomalies..
