Is your shifter cable size similar to the Cup car shifter cable?

Do you use the existing rubber block where the cables pass through the car body?

Just installed the Numeric Racing shifter into my 2004 996GT3 and plan to install the Numeric Cup cables today. I wanted to see the difference with just the shifter installed vs. stock, then with the cables.

I can honestly say the shifter has totally transform this car. The stock shifter in the 6 is incredibly sloppy, with very long throws in comparison to the rifle bolt action of the Numeric. The feel is more like the shifter in the 997GT3 RS but better, with more precision and even shorter throws. I have the pin set on the middle of the shaft so its not even on the shortest throw setting and will leave it in this position as I really like the feel. Its incredibly easy to change if you want to adjust to slightly longer or shorter throws with two set screws and an aluminum pin. This change can even be accomplished with the center console installed.

Took all of 1.5 hours to install and I was taking my time to be very careful and couldn't stop admiring the engineering masterpiece of a shifter.

Highly recommended upgrade and cant wait to get the car on the track.

Looking forward to seeing your opinion on shifter vs. shifter + cable!

Maybe even post a DIY!

..... one more thing, would be cool to get people's impressions about this shifter vs the CAE? they both seem like kick *** engineering marvels. anyone with real life experience with both shifters, what is diff?

I wouldn't mind hearing more about the difference between the Numeric cable vs. the Cup cable. For the shifter, it is quite obviously what's the difference, but the cable is harder to understand.

I believe when it was originally posted, it was mentioned that some part of the cable design was to reduce the noise compared to the Cup cable and some plastic parts were used (correct me if I am wrong), so I'd like to hear more about that and see what's the trade off.
