I've actually got a 997 C2s, tried sebros - lasted 1 day!! Trying brembos now. Actually the porsche rotors probably lasted the longest, still using x-drilled and yes I know I probably shouldn't.

I'm in the same boat. I'm tempted to move away from the PFC08s due to rotor heat. I bought the Cup ducts, which helped a little, but not enough.

I use 08's with generic centric slotted rotors, cup cooling ducts and Endless fluid and I get nearly a full season out of both pads and rotors and only bleed once a season now and only because it's time to bleed not because I get any pedal feel issues. I'd much rather sacrifice rotors @ $100 each than go through Pads @ $500 an axle in more rapid fashion.

I can't find a reason to change from this combo. It's rock solid and confidence inspiring. The Ferodo DS1.11 are an interesting substitute but at the same price and with the same characteristics as the 08's I see no reason to change.

Carbotech's are easy on rotors but everyone I know that runs them deals with some sort of headache that I don't want to deal with.

08/11 PFC, ATE Cayenne front disc, 997TT rear, RBF600, stock GT2 ducts
Works very well...likely will go to 997 calipers to get more rear bias when pads are done

Might try a slotted rotor to see if it will keep things cooler.

Do you know if the DS1.11 are any easier on rotors? I like the 08 as for a race pad, it's really road friendly.

However it is only available in E8004 shape (OEM 996.2 GT3 shape is E2707) which is slightly shallower to allow for the 2-piece discs that the Cup cars run. Not a real issue as long as you don't try and swap to a standard pad shape later on on the same disc. However they are also 1.5mm per side thicker than the RS29 with a pad thickness of 19.5mm for the RSL1 versus the RS29's 18mm thickness.

Does anyone know if the thicker pad would fit in the callipers when using standard rotors?
This sounds interesting.
Anyone?

I've used the RSL1 pads on the rear of our SPB, we usually run the RS14 blacks on the rear for more bite (running RS29's up front) and the new RSL1 seemed to do the job perfect. Found the car easy to drive and modulate, and the benefit is since the RSL1's are more of an endurance pad they should give us some more time between swaps. We also had some issues with the Pagid Black (RS-14's) chunking under 50% pad life.

Send us an email for a competitive price on brake pads, Pagid or PFC

Are you at liberty to divulge where you're getting your rotors from at that kind of price? Up here in the great white north, I was using the ATE Premium One Cayenne rotors that were readily available at a great price, but those are now NLA.

I'm surprised to hear that Mike, it was never an issue for me?

BTW, I have a nice set of barely used Pagid Yellows for you 'cheap', next time you are in town.

Yes, the ATE 350mm Cayenne rotors are NLA since last year, at least.

Reach out to Jason at Paragon for a set of slotted Sebro - he'll hook you up with a good price shipped (at least to a US address, which is what I do). I am still on my first set, almost done, probably 14 DE days on them? Approximately...

Cheers

Matt

I have a brand new set of the ATE 350 cayenne rotors still in the box. Up for sale if someone wants them...
