Default Interior upgrades??

Hi,

My recently acquired 6GT3 has a mint interior but feels a bit boring... just a sea of black (car is silver). It does not have full leather or any options at all expect crested sport seats, which I have already swapped for Euro GT3 seats. Any suggestions as to what I could do to 'jazz' it up a bit -but subtle, nothing to over the topa. I am planning on adding a harness (red) and a rollbar (prefer the stainless tequipement one). I'm thinking Alcantara inserts into the seats, steering wheel and shifter with red stitching. How difficult is it to replace the instrument pod with a real leather one??

I'd do full leather dash and leather center console for a more luxurious feel.

The alcantara seat inserts, wheel, and shift/e brake boots would be icing on the cake.

I would delete the center console and get RS shiftboot and wheel. It will not only be an aesthetic improvement, but also improve the feel. Alcantara feels nice to the touch and the center console delete will provide a substantial legroom improvement.

The target look:

Get the center console painted to match the exterior. In a light colored car that really brightens the interior.

Hey Alex, was drawn to your GT3 when I had the chance because it was a clean/pure style exterior/interior, if your interested in 'upgrading' I'd look at full leather options, the GT2 I want to purchase is the same black/plain/pure/driver interior...no bling all zing...just IMHO...very much dislike coloured gauges/belts/trim/etc in 911's

Rear console painted in body color is usually a grat option.

The OEM Schroth GT3 harness is available in silver, if you go with the alcantara inserts, it's a great look as well :

As you know there will be as many answers to this as there are drivers, I love the Carbon Fiber insets, tunnel and everywhere you can get it.

Alex, if you come over to see the wing, I can show you, and possibly sell you, my alcantara inserts for the seats.

You could also get your wheel recovered in alcantara here http://www.dallassteeringwheel.com/

How about Al dials, carbon fiber, full leather and red stitching? Like in my car. Current seats are Euro GT3s

Alex,
Have a glance at my post in the 996 forum.i have some pics of my carbon shifter and handbrake.
I would be willing to sell or even barter, as they are too pretty for my reconstituted stripper.
