Lwfw worth it on gt2

Hi guys, I've heard of a lot of people with gt3's fitting light weight flywheels with good results but haven't heard any feedback from gt2 owners so just wanted to hear from anyone who has done this mod and whether it was a worthwhile thing to do. I've got my car stripped down at the moment whilst I respray the whole body and give the car a general refresh, so it would be easy enough to do now. Also, as with the gt3's does the gt2 need the matching light weight crank pulley, as I've heard of problems on gt3's with them coming loose.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Certainly worthwhile unless you mind the audible chatter that comes with it. My friend has it on his high hp turbo and I like the increased eagerness to rev.
I would install the light aluminum pulley whether it's suggested or not. It's a cheap part and it will reduce the moment of inertia even further, which is the point of the LWFW in the first place.

it's a 996 RS part...but yes also used on all the RS cars since. Dealer had no problems getting it for me.
Pulley - 996.102.017.95
Bolt - 996.102.301.90
Washer - 999.025.174.02 - between bolt and pulley

While we're on topic..
This is what suncoast lists for 996 cars:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...Code=996gt3eng
And this for 997s:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...e=997GT3TRAGT3
Any reason we can't use the 4.0 clutch/lwfw on 996 cars?

technically....the 4.0 flywheel is actually a 964 part number. It was used in 964 cup, 996 cup, 997 cup and 997 3.8 and 4.0 RS.
The flywheel in the 996 GT3 RS and 997.1 RS street cars is different and heavier at 11.x lbs vs. 8.x lbs.
I have the 4.0 flywheel in my car with my stock 3.6 pressure plate and 996 GT3 RS clutch
I found one Rennlist member using the stock GT3 clutch in his car vs. the RS clutch. I was worried about chatter with that setup so I opted to go for the RS clutch instead. The stock clutch does not have a sprung hub where the RS clutch does.
While I'm digging through my notes here are the parts I used for my swap. **note I don't have the ring gear listed for some reason but you'll need it**
964.102.239.81 - 3.8/4.0 flywheel
996.116.015.32 - 996 GT3 RS clutch disk
950.116.813.30 - Guide Tube
944.116.080.01 - Throwout / release bearing w/ longer forks
928.102.151.01 (x9) - Flywheel bolts
N.014.715.3 (x9) - ring gear bolts

Neil , yes it's worth it.

The full 4.0 setup can work in the 996.
The 4.0 pressure plate 997 116 027 91 is new,the clutch is from the GT2RS and it has the 3.8RSs LWFW(old cup FW). (mentioned above).
Best,
