Man, dealership guys are so annoying to deal with. Just called about this car:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...ngId=111999415

Sales guy starts spewing out how great it is, how it's had more calls than any other car of theirs, how they know the previous owner was some 60yr old guy, blah blah blah. Then I start asking about PPI and DME...

Me: Do you know if there's a DME readout or recent PPI done? If not, I'd like to get that done before moving forward.
Sales: Oh..DME? No..that's the rev thing right? We don't have that. That would have to be done at a Porsche dealership.
Me: Is there one near you then?
Sales: Yea, but you're not going to be able to do that
Me: huh? Why?
Sales: We don't allow that. They're our competition. I can't allow you to take it over there and have it read.
Me: Um..
Sales: Look..this isn't going to be the car for you. I'm sure this thing is tracked and it probably has overreved, but man...I tell you..this car is WICKED. WICKED FAST. I know these cars.

That's just some of the silly crap I have to hear when calling these places.

I would have hung up midway through his "we aren't going to do that" line. Again, the reason I only buy and sell my cars to on this board with RL guys. I don't have time for that crap.

Toy barn? Dealer should rename it "Extreme TOOL Barn". Where they find these sales guys and doesn't speak well with the higher ups as well. Mike

The other silly thing was when I looked at the carfax for it, it shows a lot of maintenance work so I asked if he had documentation from the previous owner (which he claims he knew..the 60yr old guy) for all the work.

http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory...&partner=CDM_U

Me: "Do you have the maintenance paperwork and documentation from the previous owner?"
Sales: "No we don't. We're not allowed to give that to you. That's something we can't just give out to anyone"
Me: "Ok so you can't give it to me as a perspective buyer, but if I were to buy it, do you have that so I can check it out and have it for my own records??"
Sales: "No, we can't just give that to you. Dealerships these days don't provide that. The only dealership that still does it is Ferrari"
Me: "Um ok...I think there's a misunderstanding here. When I take my car in, I get all service paperwork with it. If I were to sell it, I can pass that onto the next owner or show them that regular maintenance was performed"
Sales: "No, we don't have it"
Me: "Ok so the previous owner didn't give that to you..?"
Sales: "No no...that's confidential..it has his address and whatnot"

Good grief....

They can be difficult to deal with but they do have some nice cars.

If, even after that horrible experience, you pursue that car it's local to me and I'd be glad to put a set of eyes on it for you.

u have to realized that most dealerships and sales guys dont have many miles on these cars. so they really dont know very much about it.

i called a shop about a gt car. it has no xenon, no radio, no full leahter but pccb
i played dumb and asked why no ac.
i was educated that it's a pure car so less is more.
then i asked if the car is so pure and spec for lwt wt, why then didn't they also delete the AC and why wasn't it tracked?

silence.

oh well....
