Alex good pickup. I was looking at that car (London Porsche).
It's an absolute mint example! I literally bought a car 1 week before that came into the dealership, otherwise I probably would have snapped it up.

Thanks Rev...
I was a bit apprehensive since the car had been at the dealer since September. I first became aware of it in November while I was still living in England. I was surprised it was still there a month later when I went to see it. I really hope it everything is as good on the inside as it looked on the outside!

The craziest thing was they told me about this car a year back, but the owner was on/off again about trading it in. Long story short a good friend offered me a crazy deal on a C5 Z06 (Turncoat I know ) so I jumped; Week later this gem was traded in
We'll have to cruise/hit the track this summer. I'd love to hear your comparison on the 6GT3 vs your 993.

Thanks for all the replies...
The car's now sleeping in my garage and it's gorgeous. When both my Dad and my wife saw it they really thought that I had bought a brand new car!
Now I'm being tortured as I can't drive it until May.

Many of us here have had 993s prior to our 6GT3s. You may find discussions about this in the search function. My summary:
GT3 faster, more edgy, very intense when driven at the limit, more likely to bite or reward, needs more upgrades or modifications to drive safely/reliable on the track, not as nice a street ride, more expensive, better AC,
993 a sentimental favorite, better looking, more like the old school air cooled Porsche
no surprises...few go back

Nearly bought that car acouple months ago, very nice driver. IMO, Porsche of London is THE dealer in Ontario to deal with, Tim worked his rear off trying to make the deal happen, great guy. Wish I could have made it happen, Enjoy the car!

Ha! Welcome to the club.
I did the same with my 993, and thought the same with the GT3.
There are some great discussions on this list regarding the recommended mods to the GT3...some for safety, some for enhancement.
Things that I consider necessary if you are going to track the car include rear toe links to improve geometry and to decrease rear bump steer, brake cooling ducts and welded ( or if you prefer screwed) water lines. The g forces in a GT3 are much greater than the 993, so consider a roll bar/seats/harnesses/sub strap bar. Also, you'll be going through rotors pretty fast if you have stock cross drilled ones, so plan on an upgrade or replacement pathway, with appropriate pads that can handle the heat.
Consider that a primer. More complete discussions can be found in the archives.
Cavlino I'm envious of you having both. They are both exceptional cars

You are right. I have always recommended to my students over the years to learn your car as is.....get to know it well. Then make some changes if you so desire. It is a wonderful car just as you have described it. Enjoy!
