Was out daily driving my 996tt and it made me think back to your first post question about what to buy as your first P-car. What stood out to me was how easy it is to operate my assisted clutch in the tt and how much different and heavy feeling it is in the 996 GT3. I would not be able to daily drive my GT3 for very long but then again I am in real estate and drive alot so if you planned to daily drive this first P-car though I might be in trouble for saying this on this forum, I would go with a 997 C2S or 996tt for similar money.

Once I began doing more DE's, I quickly came to the conclusion that I might have been better off keeping the 05 997 C2S I bought as my first P-Car as it would have been just as good if not better on the track right out of the box than my tt but by that point I was already too far into the mods I had done to the tt which is why I eventually bought the gt3.

I often saw guys in C2S's keeping up with me in the yellow group at DE's.

And now the guys with the 991 C2S' are going to start keeping up with those in 997.2 GT3 RS'.

Oh well, I guess that you can't stop progress.

Had the chance to drive a PDK 991S. Car is no joke. I reckon in the hands of an average driver, it'll be faster around the track than a 7GT3.

You are correct. Progress makes average drivers a lot faster.

However, I continually see good drivers in 996 GT3s and older cars still whooping average+ drivers with all the latest greatest equipment on a regular basis.

A 996 or 997GT3 is a great way to learn how to drive really well. A hero car like a GT-R or 991 C2S or Ferrari 458 is a great way to be really fast and never really learn how to drive.

+1 And that is why I love the 6, even over the 7. It's teaching me the way Just you and the car.
