Very nice I would like to incorporate a better unit into our build if anyone comes across one.

Bumping an old thread here as my search didn't yield anything newer. Which suppliers currently offer the ram air scoop for the 996 GT3? I called Getty and got no answer. I also emailed them and have yet to receive a reply. I would prefer not to use a part that is known to need extensive modification to make it fit, so FVD is out.

You might check eBay in Germany, ebay.de. Probably called a Cup Hutze or RS Hutze.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out.

If anyone else knows of a US vendor, please let me know. I imported my RS/Manthey wing from Germany, and shipping/import duties added a bit of additional annoyance. Will go that route again if it's not possible to buy a quality part that's already in the US.

Here's one, and they will ship to the U.S. Looks like the part number is: 99651295794G2X

http://www.ebay.de/itm/NEU-ORIG-Pors...item25bf995aea

Searched on the part number 99651295794G2X and there is at least one source in the US, albeit at nearly twice the price.

I ordered mine from FVD this year. I had my body shop prep/paint and I installed it with double sided tape instead of screwing it to the decklid. The fit is great and it is stuck on there properly at many 170mph+ runs. My only problem was the horrible service I received from FVD. Their website said it was available and it actually took 3 months to get. Their communication was bad with many of my e-mails asking for updates ignored. Overall I'm happy with the part but will never order or recommend anybody order anything from FVD.

Let me know if you want to sell it anytime soon ;) ;)

I just ordered one of these ducts, which will need to be installed with adhesive or tape. Do you know what brand of tape your shop used to install your duct?

LuisGT3 07-28-2016 05:02 PM

We installed it with 3M double sided tape.

Thanks for the quick reply, and pardon my ignorance, but do you know the particular type/model of 3M tape? A quick search shows several different types by 3M.

LuisGT3 07-28-2016 05:53 PM

Whichever one the stickiest is. :)

I have one from cargraphic which I installed using 3m tape also.

I am pretty sure this type of air scoop works. When we were tuning my ecu because of the cargraphic exhaust, we had to retune a few times on the road to compensate for the added air when car reaches 200 kmh or 130+mph. This was verified during with my Air fuel ratio meter, engine goes a bit lean at those speeds so we had to add fuel while it doesn't during the dyno tuning process.

Love the ram air. On the list.

Use the 3m 5962 tape. Used it to install a cf roof and it is working great.

You only used 3M double-sided tape to install your roof?
