Has anyone added extra side bars for extra protection for their 996 OEM Clubsport cage? Any comments or additional information?

A while back, I researched on the same idea and contemplated installing a pair of OMP 40mm FIA door bars. I dropped it because of lack of time and other running projects.

I still have the bars and all the hardware somewhere in the workshop.




Done right, I think that it's a worthwhile safety addition, if you are on a budget or prefer having the lighter IVM 996 cage.
Definitely a must if you have plans for carbon doors.

Mine is a 997 but do you mean like this?

 

I've wondered this myself in the past and have never found any options. I have a 996 Rs cage in mine and the rear section has a bracket to attach a door bar but the front section doesn't. My previous original clubsport cage had none.
I think the green Rs has a 997.2 cage in by the looks of it with the double door bars.
