Default Nitto NT-01 hot tire pressures

I just switched from MPSCs to NT-01s last weekend. While a little slick at first, so far I am really liking them. Although they do sound like you are driving with about 100 bumble bees in the car on the highway.

I tried to keep the pressures at 38 in the font and 40 in rear (advice from another guy at the track running the same tires).

Are these pressures right? Where are people running these hot?

Thanks,
Ian

Those are the MAX hot pressures (38-40) you want. Anything over 40 and they start getting greasy. Don't let them get too low either or you will feel the sidewall roll. I found the sweet spot to be 36F 38R hot.

+1

Everyones setup and driving style/aggressiveness is different so info just a reference point but i start out at 25psi cold front and rear. First lap is super scrimy(?) but as you hammer down pressures come up and tires have great grip for the entire session. Hard to tell what hot pressures are after cool down lap and driving into pits tires cool down somewhat. Through out the day take out one pound of tire pressure for every 10 degree ambi temp rise.

The NT-01s are slick the first time out. After they cure they get faster and faster. Then when tread wears down a little the tires feel great all the way to the cords. The tire does lose time/grip when close to the cords but its behavior is the same.

Have fun.

I was out on them today for the first time. I was aiming for 34f/35r based on my experience with R888s but I think they felt better when I had a tad more air pressure.

I run only 1psi split and like it best. Everyone will have a personal preference though. I like either 36/37 or 37/38. Anything lower and they wear much quicker in my esperience.

I'm at the track now and just turned my personal best lap on heat cycle 46 of this set. Still no cords!!!

Best 1k you can spend on tires.

Interesting. I find my car more stable at around 32F 33R anything more in the rear and the butt starts wandering around.

36/38 worked the best for me too...you can really feel it when they hit 40 they get quite greasy...

All depends on setup and driving style as already said.
I initially was 37/38 as someone recommended and the car did not like it.
After setup of my car I worked my way up from 32/34 to 36 all around. Because of my corner balance and setup this is the optimum pressure for my home track.
I don't start at a low pressure and build up as I find that it still takes sometime for heat to build in the tyre, which requires a good 3-4 laps (4.1km/lap). So I start at my optimum temp and after the first 8 laps I will bleed down as necessary. Once the tires get about 10 or so heat cycles in them, they just do well no matter what.

Good luck

33-34 hot feels best, imho. above 38psi it start to slide a lot but turn in is crispier, so, choose for yourself. my camber is -2.8/-2.4 and i started keeping same pressure front and rear, somehow it felt better.
it means i usually start at 26-27 cold, then adjust as needed. when you drive on the street to the track keep them 32cold. do not drive over any sharp crap on the road including wood planks, etc, those tires do get cut very easily.

Mine finally corded Sunday on heat cycle 53. As others have described the last few heat cycles did have a fall off in grip but we're talking less than 1 second in overall time. Best part was they corded in the middle not on the edges which means my setup must be pretty close to spot on.
