I found that cold they ran really low at about 24 rear and 25 front on the 996TT. Keep in mind that car was about 400 pounds heavier than the standard 996GT3!

I also run 25F/26R cold at Sebring. In the summer, I'll see +10 lbs hot as the track warms. I like them 32F/R hot but I don't really feel much of a difference until they get 40+ then slippery!

Dell, what does it feel like when the sidewall rolls over and can you tell from looking at the tires if that's happening?

Thanks everyone for all your input. As Dell suggested, I found that the sidewalls did tend to want to roll at pressures in the low 30s. After two days on the track, 37-39 seemed to provide me with the best results.

Darrick, the two easy way to know if you are rolling the sidewall over is (1) look at the tire when you get into the pits. If you see that you are wearing well down onto the side past the tread it will be obvious; and (2) the car almost feels like it take a 2nd "set" where you feel the suspension flex and set and then the tire roll and set.

Hopefully that made sense. I haven't finished my first cup of coffee

There are little triangles where the tread meets the sidewall, If you're wearing into the trangle you're not running enough pressure, if you're not even getting wear to the trangle you're running too much pressure.

Sad part is I take a probe pyrometer with me to the track to check temps in order to adjust alignment and pressures and more times than not I use the more conventional methods instead of using the proper tools that I have at my disposal.

Just back from HPR and my first time with my new to me GT3. Using my 911/ RA1's as a guide (same compound), I went with 26 cold which took me to 34 hot. I went the same pressure all around as recommended by other GT3 owners but will try a 1-2 pound split next time. It was 65 degrees so the track was not "summer" hot. I can't imagine hotter than 34 hot as I felt the back end moving around during the last 5 minutes of the 25 minute sessions.

I know that you all know it but…..these are amazing cars. Coming from a well prepared SCarrera (78sc with ’85 3.2) to this is wild. Things come up so much faster than I would have imagined.

My guess is you felt the low pressure as they are nowhere near greasy at 34.

Dell, I'll throw a few more PSI's in and see who she feels but unless I find a good day to go out, it might have to be in 2013, our DE season is coming to an end.

FYI....remember when you lower the PSI you lower the spring rate and also introduce more sidewall rollover
