Default CF wing end plate peeling

See the attached pic ... the top edge of my RS wing end plate is 'peeling' and is definitely getting worse over time. Is there a good way to at least stop this from spreading?

If u can find a good shop that can re clearcoat it but it would scare me if they screwed it up. Why don't u buy those clearcoat pensticks and apply it over area. Won't look as great but it'll seal area in the meantime. Unless u plan to sell it or keep it forever I would just patch it. Mike

its a car.... not the mona lisa.. stick some epoxy on it... and yes that would work.. If you want to get all into it you can use west systems marine epoxy it has many different additives for multiple purposes but just the regualar part 1&2 works on anything. (I sailed around the world and this stuff saved my *** in many foreign waters) . http://www.westsystem.com/ss/ you can sand it with 2000 wet paper or 4000 it will be a fun little project and take less time than to drive to the shop.

Is it a Porsche part or aftermarket?

My understanding is that it's the Porsche GT3 RS wing. I bought the car from Seth with the wing and that's what he told me. Are they known to have this issue by any chance?

+1 for West Systems stuff, any boat supply house should carry it. If it matters to you, just check to see if it will yellow when exposed to sunlight.

The Porsche part is extremely expensive, IMHO, and Porsche should fix it, although I would be surprised if they would give you the time of day. My car came with an aftermarket CF wing that had hazing, but has otherwise been fine. I had it painted flat black. No de-lamination issues.

I have an OEM RS wing and yes, end plates peel slightly. I have seen another OEM RS wing that really hazed up pretty badly. Not fitting of a relatively simple part costing the the price of a motorcycle.

I had leading edge chips on my OEM wing when I tracked it - realising that this would happen again even if I had it refurbished I decided to have it vinyl wrapped.

Since 2007 its still good and underneath is the original finish.

Just get it re clear coated as others have said. That oem wing is like 10k dollars now. Should look after it!

(I had my mirrors done due to chips and came out perfect.
