Default Anyone know this GT2?

Anyone know this GT2 for sale at Marshall Goldman in OHIO?

http://inventory.mgmsl.com/web/used/...-Ohio/4594405/

I was orginally searching for just a Turbo but this price seems like a really good deal.

Your thoughts?

I'm surprised that no one on this forum piped in about this GT2. The car is gorgeous and seems very well priced. I would expect a GT2 to have good appreciation potential. Am I wrong?

If I wasnt getting married in 2 weeks and had more time, Id fly out and look at it. Been hunting for a PTS 996 Turbo for a long, long time.

Im just not sure I want RWD and Carbon brakes. Decisions, decisions.

My lord those Fabspeed tips are vulgar!

996 GT2s are such awesome cars for the money. This looks to be in nice shape and priced correctly given mileage....

Im sure more than a few prospective buyers have passed for this reason alone. Sooooo ugly.

Its funny, I ran the carfax and at one point in time the car was registered in my town, East Brunswick, NJ.

Small world.

I think so too. Probably the ugliest tips I've ever seen.

Just bought a GT2 and they are in my opinion the most underrated supercar out there. I agree they are a handful to drive but isn't that really why we all get out on the track, to feel alive. First time I punched it the car altered space and time one second I was 400 feet behind the next car and in what felt like the end of that second I was passing them.

Check the shift from first to second if it's been launched to many times it will be very tight which I'm told by my buddies would be an indication of torque of the drivetrain. Have the ECU scanned for over revs.

With low miles the great news is they drove it some, and sounds like not to much. Tips are just a passing thing you could make a great anchor out of those or sell them to a kid for more than the replacements are going to cost.

Bottom line I would say its a great price based on all the research I just did. Now it's up to you.

Google the VIN. The car has been around. Not implying a negative here just you need to learn more about the car. Find out where it was offered for sale and call some dealers in the area and ask about servicing. Avoid trying to learn who the previous owner was. You are buying the car not the person who owned the car.

FWIW a very nice 44k mile GT2 was just advertised for 58k, sold imediately to a RL'er, I think these cars are a tremendous value.

I think they might be fabspeed oval tips. For a short time I had them on my 996 ttS which I sold. If the attachment points to connect the tip to the exhaust was the longer version, it made them pop out way to far but with the shorter one, it fit really well.

Here is a pic with the long and short.

I'll be posting the short version up in the fs section soon as they have been just sitting in a box for years.

US imports: 2002 to 2005 = 304 (entry level price, $189.000 and up)
Who knows how many have already passed away. In my humble opinion, these cars may be worth as much as the 70's RS are now.
GO FOR IT...
