WTB: 996 gt3 RS or Manthey wing
#106
Hi fellas,
Digging up an old thread as I'm looking to get a replacement RS CF replica wing.
I've contacted both Carnewal and GMG (distributor of Manthey) and seems both of them no longer sell the German made Manthey version. Guess the old fella stopped making them.
GMG now makes their own GT3RS replica wing in CF for $3k.
They will send to me a photo one one but have any of you used one?
Fit, finish? Comments about quality and function?
Thanks
George

The shape and profile of the wing is very similar to the 7.1RS wing.

You're going to love it. I run mine with 4 deg shims and I can feel an improvement in tail end stability in high speed transitions. I recommend you get it wrapped with clear film (at least the top side) prior to use. The Gurney type lip built in to the trailing edge is somewhat delicate

Hi Chris, when I reached out to Manthey last year, they had no plans to have any more built by their 3rd party supplier. I think that ship has sailed. Too bad.
GMG also stopped selling theirs, due to quality issues with their supplier (according to GMG).
I went with a Getty unit. Much of the cost is on the finishing clear coat (depending on your standards). It came out very well for me.
Or you can pay $$ for a well used OE. Which will be beaten, and require aforementioned redo of the clear coat. Was not worth it to me.
Cheers
