Replace Front Windshield

Ah, makes sense. The aftermarket one is thinner and an inferior product. Maybe on a Carrera, but have heard of many guys crack the aftermarket ones from the rigidity of the car. The other option is the Cup windshield. It's cheaper since it doesn't have the antenna.

I’m going to need a replacement this spring. The OEM windshield actually seems soft compared to my other cars based on miles/use/chips, but since there doesn’t seem to be a better on out there I’ll probably replace it with another OEM and add a tear-off.
My local independent glass installer commented that the radio antenna is a tricky part of the 996 (with radio) install. Something about splicing the wire to avoid removing the dash pad to get at the connector. Sounds sketchy to me. Any experience with the antenna connection?
Thanks,
David
