GT3R bodywork on street GT3....
Anybody here even consider taking their street 996GT3 and installing the GT3R fender flares, front bumper and Cup wing?
Personally i think it would look awesome and wouldnt mind building one as a side project. Full interior but with clubsport cage, quick release steering wheel, BBS E88 wheels and clubsport seats.
Anything on the street car that would stop one from installing all the parts?
(granted one can find all the parts of course...)

Guy on the 996 forum did it to a C2 a long time ago...twice actually once with 99-01 front end which was then crashed and re-built with 02+ front.

**edit** just looked in the classifieds and there's an '05 for sale with some sort of bolt-on flares, GT2'ish front bumper and rear wing that I don't recognize. Same feel as a GT3R or RSR but not quite.

I have and will probably end up doing it at some point over the next year or two. I already have a 4 liter and cup decklid so the RSR conversion would be the perfect way to round it all out
And you have the same thought as I do for the rest of the car...clubsport bar (will probably go with custom build from RSS), almost full interior, and E88s (or rebarrel my FM10s).
It will be tough and $$$ to find the PMNA parts and I can't remember who actually made them for PMNA but you still might be able to source them directly from the manufacturer. DP and Getty also make the parts as well in FG or CF. DP is going to be the best fit out of the box but I've heard that Getty's parts aren't too bad.

Oh, and nothing would stop you from installing the parts on a street car but be ready to take the body saw to the rear fenders...that's the only downside as that's irreversible. Also, still haven't done enough research on the front ducting but Getty does offer some front ducts. Not the end of the world if you had to fab some up from FG though.

A guy called Richard Long did it over here in the UK back in 2002 to his Speed Yellow Mk1 GT3.
The conversion was carried out by Paragon :

And the build was documented in 911 and Porsche World.

This was done 10 years ago to a GT3 in the UK as well.
It started with regular GT3 fitted with a 2001 Cup rear wing, and then the owner went for a full GT3R bodywork uppgrade (the work was carried out by Paragon)
IMHO, getting the Cup front bumper and wing is cool, but going more extreme is not worth it.
