I hope you guys have a great time on the track. Please keep updating us during your track weekend. Its full on Winter in my parts so all I can do is day dream about being on the track. Hearing from you guys that are actually at the track helps me deal with this Winter land I am stuck in.
Merry Christmas

Let us know what you think of the new 991S. It would be good to hear the opinion of someone on the forum. The only person that I know that has bought one never owned a 911 before so nothing to compare to per se'.

Damon, I am confused: Your web site give a width of 11.5" for the 285/30, but 10.4" for the 335/30??? However, the section width is ~2" more on the 335 than on the 285.

There's got to be a typo in there somewhere?

Would 245, 335 be a good combo for the 996 GT3? Other than wheel well clearance, we need the diameters to be very close on this car, otherwise, the ABS is not too happy.
Getting back to Francois question on these sizes, the fronts 245/40 should be good, and I know MSTACH indicated that the rear 335 would be too big, but I'm using 12" rims so the 285 rears would be a stretch, I've done that with the Kuhmo's and not optimal.

Has anybody put a 335 on the rear of the 996 the R6 315 fits good, section width is 12.2" and tread is 11.8" the R1 section width is 13.5 the tread should be 13.4" (though tire rack has the wrong data).

Diameters for the 245 and 335 looks good with regards to ABS.

I think there may be an old set of R6 335's at the shop I use. Those have a section width of 13.5" and a tread width of 12.8". If we can find those 335 I'll have them mounted and see if those can work. If not it looks like I'll try the Yoko slicks.

John, I've done 3 good days on the BFG's, and I like them. But... I would like more rubber in the back. Would really love a 315, which is why I am planning to go to the R6 next, once I've burned through my 285 R1's and 295 R6's.

The R1 seems to be very straight forward and easy to live with, whereas the R6 appears to be more temperamental, and requires more TLC to perform optimally.

BTW, that's the 285 R1 in the picture below.
