Default Brembo RACE 8piston/4piston

I'm looking at a 996GT2 with this BBK already installed.

I can't seem to find *anything* as far as pricing for replacement pads, rotors, maintenance, etc.

Does anyone have experience with them? I believe they're the updated 'GTR' caliper line... except they're forged and not painted. Look freakin' massive -- I'm not sure how they even fit in there.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
Henry

Wow! Thanks for the link. That's the only one I've seen that actually lists the 8pots instead of 6's.

I guess it's worth a call to find out what replacement pads/rotors run.
@22.5k for the setup.... I'm guessing not cheap LOL

Rotor rings are 425/per from Brembo or Vividracing. I'm sure you could get Coleman or someone else to make them for cheaper if they don't already have that particular ring in their files. I think new hat hardware is like $90/per or something like that. Or is it $90/per pair? Hat hardware is supposed to be replaced when you swap rings. Pads are a different story. It's probably worth checking with PFC and Pagid to see if they make a pad to fit. I'm sure you could always source the Brembo pads (don't recall who makes them for Brembo) from Brembo or Vivid. Just remember this site too....http://store.zeckhausen.com/catalog/...p?cPath=82_912. Click on Brembo parts.

That's great info -- thanks so much. I was worried I was looking at $2-3k for front rotors alone.

On 8-piston calipers, I think you need to buy double the number of pads (2 sets as used on 4-piston calipers). Definitely makes running costs higher.

We carry Pagid pads for this caliper, prices range from $480 to $680 depending on the compund you choose.

Very nice brakes!! we run the 6 piston version of this caliper on our Grand -AM cars, I can tell you those are priced just north of $4k per caliper, but unless you have an impact with something and physicaly damage it it will not ever need to be replaced. Fully serviceable when the time comes.

Boostin was spot on with his info on the rings and bobbins(hardware) and i can supply all of these items as well as the other vendors listed, although for Pagid i am pretty sure i can give you the best price as we are main Pagid distributor.

Good luck with the purchase on the car!!

We have pads for this set, rotors, hardware and anything else you would need to maintain the system.
