Thanks Ivo - practice tomorrow evening! Can't wait. went karting today to keep occupied
Going to clean and remove all graphics, check alignment and wheels first thing tomorrow.

I've borrowed a garage at the track from a friend - maybe an away race in Nov at Kyalami.

Very clean looking car Flowbe - Spa!! Nice way to break yourself in to the next level
Good luck to all! I imagine I'm going to start out driving it just like the RS and be a bit slower at first!

Oh and Flowbe, et's have some more pics please
Must say I think my cup steering wheel looks massive v my 997 cup wheel

Seems Spring is the new X-mas

Super Flowbe. Well done. Looks very clean and fresh. What's the story about the car. Did not realize you live in Europe. PM with your e-mail/number. We should hook up soon and Spa is my favorite track. Who's organizing ?

HiWind: one more night (if you can sleep at all) ha ha

I'm from belgium
i'll PM you my Mail adress , 8th october is with skylimits .
I'm going to test the car there with the seller to check that the car is ok and everything is still working fine .

I don't know the full history of the car , it has not been driven much the last years , last race was the 10 hours of zolder in 2010 . And then it has done some trackdays .
It is a 2004 upgraded to 2005 spec .
The exterior of the car was not in great shape so i made a deal with the seller (trade in my 996 GT3 for the cup wich got a full respray ) .
Also bought new windows and cup mirrors .
So now the car is looking pretty fresh and clean . I still have to clean up the interior but that is something for the winter .
The engine has got 997 heads so it should be around 410BHP but there is no proof of that and has got a M&M 100DB exhaust .
Engine has done aprox. 40hours and gearbox was rebuild after the 10hours race .

Holy Moses - I went out to warm tires then did a bleed ... then did this session (sorry camera was full so only a couple minutes)
killarney open practice

Braking from my normal markers I almost stopped the car before the apex! LoL
Too many things to mention re differences.
Key one for me: the kink (where I had that glycol spin a few months back - see "lucky at the kink") is a fast left hander with a sharp curb 100m after a right handed hairpin, so car in .75+ G space, switching like in esses..

usually the cars (gt3's) are unsettled by just touching it so we avoid it like the plague... but its 0.4 sec if you can run it

at fulll acceleration in the cup it felt like a twig - almost nothing!
and I had upgraded RSS suspension/ same alignment setup in the RS ... amazing difference!

I was a bit sceptical re the tub and some minor body work, rusty exhaust etc... but after driving it, I'm in the Cup!

OK Q&A and HiWind, my car sold tonight after 1 bloody day of advertising by mouth!
I thought I would have more time with it but likely be gone by the weekend.

Alright, I am taking suggestions for what my new car should be.....

996 cup????? wink wink

...and so it begins

Vince

It's going to be a LOOOOOONG winter thinking about this.
