first time on the track this past weekend with the 6gt3
Well, i had one of the best DE this past weekend. First time with the gt3 on a real track. I went to Mosport track and all i can say is that i had a blast!
This was my second DE at this track and i was a little scare since it was my first time with the gt3. I started real slow to learn the car and remember the track.
i was getting more and more speed after a few runs and loved it.
this car is in a totally different league, its apart from the other cars.
i found it day and night from the 4s.
the car is very stable, so powerful, its pulling hard when you ask. I was able to brake lately.
no negative points at all.
my dad went for a spin with an instructor in his 6gt3 and had a big smile went he came out. i think he will switch soon loll

Other then the shocking exit power and weight, what was so different from your 4S?
I continually meet GT3's on the track and I am able to stay with them in any corner up until we get on the power. Then they are gone.
It's may be my driving style and trail braking into corners but I have no issues with under-steer and since there is very little power to the wheels I don't really have to worry to much about throttle control. Unless in a high speed bender when the car is at the edge of grip. Is this where you finding the differences? I can rotate my 4S with the brake but I get very little rotation on throttle.
Soon I will be moving up to a more powerful car with all the newer 911 and even the more powerful lighter Caymans now my car feels quite slow after the apex. I've thought about a 996tt since it's cheaper then a GT3 and I am used to the extra weight and I love the widebody.

I could keep up with a Ferrari Challenge car in Green, with in instructor.....until the straights.
Fast cars don't mean fast drivers; that's clearly written in the DE Cup Series Rules

I didn't mean I am fast or the other drivers are slow. I really wanted to know how night/day different it is.

Differences (the obvious ones):
1. Suspension
2. Weight
3. Power
4. Balance
5. Precision
6. Oversteer by nature versus understeer in the rest of non GT line.
7. Brakes
8. and the list keeps going

I thought Dell was the only one that covered his eyes while on track with you......or wait, is that him?

Sorry I am in Black group and have run as well in with mixed black/red groups a number of times. We are all the same level and I most of us have been driving in the same group for years.

The difference between a 996 C4S and 996 GT3 is butter knife to switch blade; seriously. I loved my C4S.

Not a chance. I've driven on track and owned the 996CAB, 996C4S, 996GT3, 996Turbo, and 997GT3. I can tell you have never driven one...a GT3 that is. Once you do, come back and you'll want to edit your post

I has more tight, light steering. Tighter suspension which may have also felt like more grip even though I run the same tire compound and fairly close tire widths.
Great brakes but due it's less weight and bigger calipers though I have felt the same great braking in a 99 996 C2 with race pads.
Other then I wouldn't consider in night vs day difference. slightly better but not night vs day.
Power and acceleration is almost double that of my 4S but I all ready knew that.

I've driven a 997.1 RS

There's a reason I got rid of my Turbo (the C4S with GT3 power) and got back into a GT3. It is 100% night and day difference on track. And I have driven both the 6GT3 and 6Turbo back to back on track and drove the 6GT3 pretty close to my ability (without totally scaring Scott).
It is night and day but you are entitled to your opinion.
