I am going to pick up 2005 GT3 on Friday, can't wait. Car has covered a very gentle 25k miles. Still has original front tires with decent tread, which is a little hard to believe after reading threads on tire life. My plan is to buy all new tires as rears have a mismatched N2 and N4 compounds and it's giving the car the classic pull under accel and decel. Since fronts are original it only makes sence to buy a fresh set of runbber. Plan is go with the Kooks vs the Michelins, tires be only street driven. Any reason not to buy the Hankooks, I've got a set on my M3 and they seem like great tires for the $$.

Congrats! Good call on replacing the tires. 8 year old tires is not something I'd want to be driving around on. I have put the Hankooks on my 6Turbo and 7GT3. Love them. And the price point is much easier to absorb than PS2's.

I have followed the 6-3 market for a while, when market was melting down and they were cheap I just could not bring myself to write a check for one. I had pretty much given up and was about to go in a another direction when the car I had been looking for showed on up an attractive price and I pounced. I never owned a Porsche newer than 1992, the only water cooled Porsche's I ever driven in are boxsters. I am an old school 911 guy, I've owned a ton of them but I was ready to try a modern Porsche.

Cool. If you do a Search, you'll find that even air cooled guys like the 6-3 for the feel and sound of the air cooled Porsches. Look forward to hearing your impressions as well.

I have been pleased with the performance of the Hankooks on both my 2004 GT3 and 2001 540i six speed. The performance in both wet and dry has been comparable to my previous Z-rated Bridgestones and the ride is surprisingly quiet and comfortable. Congratulations on your GT3 purchase!
