I am on my second set of alcon rotors. First set lasted about 12k miles.

They are great disks, but not sure if better than anything else equivalent, and I'm not sure the hats would be reusable for another set of rotors.

Alcon themselves don't seem to recommend reusing the hats as they are balanced against the disks when manufactured.

FWIW i'm on 2nd set of 355mm alcon rotors - not on a gt3 though.
worked well with ds2500 pads for track/street mix, but then track-only rs-14's (blacks) ate the rotors like no tomorrow. worked very well, but fun didn't last long....

Just replaced my spent factory cross drilled 996GT3 rotors which were toast after 20K street miles ending with 8 track days at Road America.

Installed GiroDisc 350 mm floating slotted rotors front and rear so will see how it goes. MPSC tires on Forgeline wheels, and have been very happy with Endless ME-20 Pads and Endless race fluid.

Did you have to make any modifications to the front calipers?

Converted my PCCB 08 GT2 brakes to 10 GT3 Cup. Rotors and calipers. Stock drilled front rotors showed early cracking so I bought a spare set almost a year ago and still haven't replaced them. I am still shocked at the long wear. Guessing 30 days with RS19 all around changing when pads are 3/4 worn which happens quickly.....6-9 days.

I've had great experience with AP on my Cayman S. Converted to GT3.1 rotors and calipers. Stock rotors barely lasted 10 days. Always felt it was due to poor cooling in the Cayman. Went thru 3 sets and then switched to AP and they've been incredible. I am guessing 40 days or more. rS 19 all around.

Stock setup on 6GT3 Cup. Still new to me but 6 days and practically no pad wear with RS14 while the rotors are developing grooves with little/no cracking. Can't believe the lack of pad wear because I tried RS14s on the GT2 and they wore very quickly.

On my 6GT3 I'm on my second set of Cayenne front rotors. The first set of rotors went 27 track days. 15 track days on the second set and the rotors still look good. I have a fresh set of Cayenne rotors on the shelf.
I use cup rear rotors on the back that still look good but I will need replacements at some point. This thread is a great resource.

Pagid yellow 19 or 29's front, with black 14's in the rear.

Don't listen to Brian; he doesn't brake much at all.

I've used Cayenne, PFC, DeMan and stock rotors for the front, and I'm now trying PFC 2 piece again with 06 fronts to see if I can tell the difference. I'm using 07TT rears, cheaper than cup rotors, and essentially the same, with 01 rear pads.
Next, I'm going to try Cayenne fronts with 01 PFCs. I like a little more bite than the 06's give, but the 01's are harder on rotors. I figure with the cost of Cayenne rotors so low, I don't mind.
They all work. I'm going for a comfortable ( for my braking style) friction rate, and low cost.

Sorry forgot to mention i replaced the 6.1CS four pot calipers with 6.2RS six pot calipers..

Also used alloy spacers and longer bolts to space out the calipers all round to accept the larger front 365mm & rear 350mm Alcon discs.

They have worked out to be a truly awe inspiring set of brakes.

Ok so I voted Giro w my wallet ... But more due to logistics than anything as Alcon guys were away, PFC didn't have stock and giro would be low shipping. they arrive next week. Do I go rs14 in rear, 29 in front, or stick as I do now w the 29s all round?

Thanks all for contributing - 60 votes in all is no small sample, only missing a few usual/useful suspects - interesting and evenly spread result ... Although the trak-rats rule the roost with the ATE 'hack/arbitrage'

For under $200 a set shipped and 15-20 track days, how can you not? The brake performance slotted rotors I'm using now are doing great. 3 days and no cracking at all yet.

DD - I can't say I'm sad to see you're not running the Volvo avatar anymore ... but Bong Bear!? Seriously, in your line of work? LoL!

I definately see your point re the ATE's - but there must be some downside - do they add weight by as much as say ... a cup holder? I am hoping my Giros last at least a season and cut back on the airtime ie on the lift.
