Default Shims for camber adjustment

Hi

Does anyone know how many mm a shim have to be for - 3.15° camber? I will rotate the struts also, but I don't know wich shim I have to use:

996 341 543 90 -> 1mm
996 341 543 91 -> 2mm
996 341 543 92 -> 3mm
996 341 543 93 -> 7mm

Any feedback on this?

Thanks
Oliver

The shop doing your alignment will be able to determine that as there are several factors at play here.

I'm confused. The shop doesn't have any idea what size they need to order? As has been said, there are many factors at play. Number and size of shims currently using? Where are you adjusters locked on top? ride height? current camber setting? etc? etc?

I'll double check mine tonight when I get home but for reference I believe I'm at 108mm ride height in the front so lower than stock but not really that low in comparison to others here. If memory serves me correctly I have 4mm of shims in my car and my hats rotated and I can just barely get -3 with the strut tops pushed all the way in.

After adding GT3 LCA to my Cayman, I found that there was about 1 degree available at the slot at the top of the strut. I also calculated that a 10 mm shim is about 1 degree.

It's 4 minutes and 30 seconds per 1mm for the 996.

With 98mm height and rotated struts, I am running 4mm to get a 3.05 Camber.

remember that front shim count is not even left to right,

the left hand coffin arm has the headlight deflector arm attached to a shim that's 1mm thick and permanently fixed in with the other shims.

Just as a data point:

Struts NOT rotated.
7mm of shims for -2.5 camber.

I barely squeeze by with the caster increase. You will be forced to rotate the strut tops to achieve your desired camber, otherwise, your tires will be kissing the fender wells.

Also, there is micro adjustment of camber at the strut tops.

I must say I got exeptional service from Tarrett when buying my shims, even for such a small purchase they went out of their way to fix a problem I created myself.

I also had a great buying experience from Tarrett. Next time I need anything that they sell, I'm there.
