Just curious, from the original post, it was stated that Tommy / Pat Long do not ride in the passenger seat. I certainly respect their decision but am just curious as what's the reason? Because of the danger? Or their contracts do not allow them to do so?

Mid Ohio school instructors are the same way. They'll drive your car all day with you as a passenger which is a great way to gather data and learn, but they will not ride with you.

Tommy Byrne driving my car (the M3) was entertaining to say the least.

I definitely agree that it is a good way to learn by sitting in the passenger side.. although by having an instructor on the side also allow them to provide you with instant feedback.

I am just a relatively beginner so I found that to be helpful.

Just to be clear, Tommy is not able to ride in the right seat, but will drive everyone's car, lay down some baseline data, comment about car set--up and race craft, car control, etc. The other coaches there (myself, Larry, Bob, etc.) WILL be riding right seat to help clients implement what Tommy shows them.

I'm going to have to win the lottery and retire if I want to do all the things I want to do.

Folks,

This morning, Tommy informed me that he requires semi-urgent surgery, and will receive it on May 30th. He has been told to expect at least a 4-6 week recuperation. Thus, he won’t be able to get in any cars during that time.

Thus, we will not be holding the Tommy Archer coaching clinic at this event, and will have to aim for later in th eyear, after he recuperates.

Those who sent me deposit checks, I held on to them, and will be returning them to you.

I am still available directly for this event, FYI.

Thanks,

Dave
