I am currently running 245 front/ 315 back Hoosier R6s or Nitto NT01 for DE/TT and autocross. I would like to drop down a class in the new 2011 classification system but the only way to do this is to go to NT01 245/275.
Is this size combo going to totally screw up the handling of the car or could the suspension be tuned to make this a reasonable choice?
By the way, I have tried the Hoosiers once and loved them but I'm going back to the Nittos for now. The Hoosiers wear out too fast, I don't trailer the car, and they just mask my mistakes. I am usually running just below the red group and still have a lot to learn.

I am running yoko slicks, 230/650 up front and 280/650 rear. I don't see how you get that much rubber under there. My inner fender liners are wearing from tire rub.
Anyway, It looks like the Nitto size will be OK. You may have to move one of both swaybars one hole to get the handling right. I don't think you have to worry about spring rate or anything like that. I ran Michelin Pilot Sport Cups and the handling was fine. I found more variation on tires that sizes. Ended up down the slippery slope on slicks for DE's.
Good Luck.

Thanks Paul,
I thought it would probably be OK with just a swaybar adjustment. I had no problem with either the Hoosiers or the NT01 315s in the back, but the 245s up front did rub a little at full lock on the steering.
