Default Shoulder Harness width apart

I have GT3 Euroseats with 2 inch wide Hans Schroth shoulder harness attached to a Tequipment roll bar . I am trying to figure out the correct distance my shoulder harness should be spread apart. From some pictures of ther users it appears the inner edge of the shoulder harness is even with the cutout of the Euroseats. I read the document from schroth but it is not clear to me. Issue came up because I am installing shaft collars to keep them from spreading outward. Hope this makes sense.

Steve

Should be test fitted to your shoulder width then mark on bar. Where ever the outer edge of harness belt is where collars should be. U don't want it to spread at all. Mike

Correction: not shoulder width but where your harness sits on your shoulder. Mike

Do people have problems with movement of the shoulder attachments? Mine stay where they are supposed to be. Once I fasten them, they are very taught, and are at the shortest distance between me and the bar. What would make them move from this position?

No sliding for me, and what you have said above would make the most sense for me instinctively.

Per my HANS manual, "Do not exceed 3" maximum belt separation measured from the inner edges of belts."

On the Tequipment roll bar it only has the black rubber o-rings. These o-rings do a relatively good job at holding the belts but with use over time they will slowly move outward. I have to assume this is caused from the removal of the belts after a run and threading them through the seat openings when going from street to the track.

Don't they "self center" when you put them on and tighten them? I have a DAS bar, and that is what happens.

Harnesses are suppose to hold you tite and there should be no slack at all. Racing orgs it's mandatory to have collars or rollbar padding to prevent any movement of harness. Only thing I can think of belts spreading is a side impact or rollover(knock on wood). Mike
