my 20' has two 5000# axles
my 24' has three 5000# axles
my car is some sort of GT3
no way in hell i can over load either trailer, but i like BIG safety margins.
also, 20' is more than enough for a GT3, assuming you are talking 20' clear floor length. any shorter than 20' CLEAR, it's too small, trust me.

but you really want 22' or more in clr floor length. if you think you will bring X, you will end up brining 2X. so bigger is better.

I have a 20' steel enclosed with dual 3500# axles. Car is 2500# and empty trailer is 3400#. I just keep the extra's that I put in it to a minimum and what ever else I need in the back of the truck. No issues towing with this set up although I would go with the 5000#axles if you go larger than a 20' trailer.

Is that what a stripper GT3 weighs? 550lb reduction plus?
Seriously?
Do you have helium in the tires?
If so, I'd agree that would work for me too on a #7000lb trailer.
My car weighs a lot more though and I can barely lift my tool box not to mention extra wheels, jacks, etc etc.
I think a 22' trailer wold be a perfect compromise for me in size, weight etc.
If it had a V-nose that much better.

Sorry, should have specified what car. It is a spec boxster. The GT3 is around 3,000#. So, I would still be under the max GVW for the trailer.

I would not necessarily trust the plate on the trailer to be accurate. Mine was WAY off, perhaps because of the cabinets and other mods, even though they were factory installed. If you are thinking of approaching the rated limit, it might be wise to actually weigh it as you plan to use it.

I have one of these tongue weight scales. It has been really handy to have on several occasions.
