WTB: 996 GT3
Hi guys,
Been in the market for a new car a few months now and have more less decided on a 6GT3. Haven't found one that I absolutely must have yet so I thought I would reach out and actively pursue...
Anyways, I'm looking for a well cared for 6GT3 and my colors of choice are white and atlas grey respectively and my must haves on the car are air con and bi-xenon's with a clear title. I also wouldn't be opposed to a 7GT3 given a good enough deal. I will be driving this car primarily, weather permitted. I'm located in the Chicago area but am not opposed to traveling to pick up a car and road tripping back. I would really appreciate any help/leads that you guys can provide.
Thanks!
Dow

Silver, higher miles, but looks nice:

And the yellow beauty, but the seller is consuming crack:

Those all look like nice bubble-wrap examples.....
IMO, service history and a thorough PPI from an independent shop are must haves. Tracked should not be automatic deal-breakers; they are typically better cared for, and should have many documented tech inspections.

82k for that yellow is nuts...
Thanks. I don't mind mileage as long as its been documented and taken care of and hasn't been damaged. Same situation with high miles, I don't mind if its been tracked either as mine will see track time too. As long as interior is intact and it has AC

Sounds like a good deal and I like red more on the 997 (as opposed to 996) but I think I'll stick to my preferred colors for now. Thanks.

Good pick with Atlas Gray. It wasn't my first choice for my 996 GT3, but once I saw it in person, I knew I had to have it. I also went with PCCBs, bi xenons, extended leather, cruise control and a few other interior options.
Good luck with your search.

Tough to find a 996 GT3 that has not been bent. I looked for a while and gave up as I saw example after example (all low mileage) that had taken a track/road hit. Be careful on the seach and definately paint-meter all panels, etc. Best of luck. The hunt is half the fun.

my .02, stick to your guns on colors.
It was Red or Yellow only for me from the get go. Well it would have been white if my wife didn't have a say but gotta keep the better half happy and she said no more white cars. I was totaly OK with red or yellow though.
I was tempted with alot of great black cars that came on the market while I was looking, I even came VERY VERY close to closing the deal on one of them because it was such a great deal but in the end I'm glad I held out for one of the color's on my list.

^^agree. Don't settle, the right car is out there. I was actually surprised how fast we found ours and we were being very specific. The only thing I would have asked for more than ours has is full leather.
