Those three are where I'd start first... $1000 for seal mount/hardware is insane.

My car has the comfort seats with manual forward aft sliders. I wish to continue to have forward aft sliding with the race seat.

As far as I can tell, there is no Recaro seat base frame that suits the Recaro race seats for a 996 or 997. they only have base frames for the more basic seats.

I would appreciate any guidance, as also cant see any Brey Kraus seat base that first the full Recaro race seats?

As another idea, has anyone got insight if other full head restraint type race seats are available that you can basically just buy and bolt in with available parts?

Here is the seat I wish to mount... http://www.recaro-automotive.com/en/...-spa-hans.html

It is different in base dimensions than the SPG's etc.

Anyone else got feedback that of some use please?

RSRS...how did your fitment go?

So, if thats the same slider I already have in the car, I think I can order the seat, the Recaro side mount brackets (I want the black ones, but likely the same dimensions as the alloy ones in your pics) and then figure out how to attach the Recaro side mounts to the OEM slider I already have in the car. Make sense?

Any tips on that last step?

Before you order, note that you can not use 3p belts with the Pro Racer seats. The shoulder belt's path is interrupted by the head protections wings.
You can't also use the OEM sliders for electric or sport seats without modifications to fit any bucket side mounts.

If you don't have a problem with the above, and to fit the non XL Pro Racer plug and play you have 2 options:

1. Buy the Recaro sliders (made specifically for the 996/997 cars)
Link

Then use the silver Recaro side mounts (aluminium and considerably lighter) or black Recaro side mounts (steel)

2. Buy the Porsche GT3/GT2 and 996 Cup car bucket seat manual sliders (also made by Recaro) part number for the driver's side 99652192990

Then use the Cup car's side mounts Motorsport part number 996.521.923.95 (The cup car uses the narrow version of the Pro Racer)

Option 3 is to mix and modify options 1 and 2 or play with the manual sliders of your GT2. You can throw some BK side mounts, custom mounts and/or floor mounts into the project for more drilling and patents.

racetech make halo seats as well, but don't know if 3p belts could be used?

Thanks all. Looking at where the seat belts (3 point) pass on another car of mine fitted with Recaro SPG's, the three point belt still may work on the pro racer.

Has anyone, maybe you Mooty, tried running the three point belt with the Reacaro Pro Racer for use to and from the track? (then full harness on track)

thanks

my 3pt belt is routed through shoulder harness hole. it's not optimal, i use it in a pinch. otherwise the car is trailered.
