Default Recaro Pro Racer SPA - 996 GT3

I want to install the Recaro Pro Racer SPA seat in my 996 GT3. A tuner told me, there is a special seatbracket from recaro, but this will cost much more then 1000 US Dollar. For one bracket only!

Are there other options / brackets?

I can't use the original bracket, because the Pro Racer is much smaller then the original GT3 Clubsport-Seat.

Porsche/Recaro or Recaro rails and Recaro or Brey or Cup side brackets.
Way cheaper than 1000..

Do you have any link or a online shop?

ur tuner is full of ****.
a race shop will find the bracket, modify, fabricate and get it to work.
YOU do not need to locate the bracket. it's the shop's job to get it done. that's why you pay the shop. when your tuner pays YOU, then you feel free to find a bracket that works.

it always amazes me why customers put up with these "tuners"..... what exactly are they tuning?

Hi, I also wish to install a Recaro Pro Racer seat in my 996 (GT2). I wasnt going to use a tuner to do it, so would appreciate any advice more specifically what I need to source. My car has the comfort seats with manual forward aft sliders. I wish to continue to have forward aft sliding with the race seat.

As far as I can tell, there is no Recaro seat base frame that suits the Recaro race seats for a 996 or 997. they only have base frames for the more basic seats.

I would appreciate any guidance, as also cant see any Brey Kraus seat base that first the full Recaro race seats?

As another idea, has anyone got insight if other full head restraint type race seats are available that you can basically just buy and bolt in with available parts?

and dont buy recaro slider, it's a joke.
get euro 996gt3 shell seat's slider. if they tell you they cant order those, tell them to f themselves. i have about 20 of those. then ANY tuner with 1/8 of a brain can fine and or fabricate s bracket and get them on the seat and attache to the rail then bolt it to the tub. this has been dont to many may many of my cars. it's EXTREMELY simple. i highly suggest you find a REAL tuner. seriously.

if you pay tuner to do it, HE needs to go find it and get it done.
i tell my tech what i want, and it is done.
you pay, he works. very simple.

Mooty, I am not using a tuner. I have no idea what you are you referring too.

Here is the seat I wish to mount... http://www.recaro-automotive.com/en/...-spa-hans.html

It is different in base dimensions than the SPG's etc.

Anyone else got feedback that of some use please?

RSRS...how did your fitment go?

my comments were directed to OP. i think he's been taken.

strange. i posted 2x on this subject... must be getting old.

see pic
the bracket is silver alum by recaro. i dont read german, but it says HERSTERLLER - CODE 14100
73002502.2

my other seat has black recardo bracket that's steel instead of alum. but i sold the seat so no pic sorry.

the slider in pic is porsche oem slider, see the label on the slider. you can order them from dealer, they are MUCH more $$ than recaro sliders, but they actually slide, you dont have to force them like you do with recaro sliders, which i broke about 15 of them before i gave up.

the seat in your link is the same one i have, though i have the XL one.
my bud, 996flt6 on RL has the same same seat but NOT XL.
spg and spa are identical size except one is FG the other CF.
so, the bottom line is any spa, spg, xl or not can be mounted
i also have pole position which also works.
sorry i dont have more references as to where to get these things. i usually just tell my tech what end results i want, the he makes it happen or otherwise i get very pissed.

hopefully the pic below will help you find them.

Thanks. Interesting. It looks to me like the picture of the oem slider is is exactly the same slider fitted already to my car. My car seat however is a GT2 996 comfort seat.

So, if thats the same slider I already have in the car, I think I can order the seat, the Recaro side mount brackets (I want the black ones, but likely the same dimensions as the alloy ones in your pics) and then figure out how to attach the Recaro side mounts to the OEM slider I already have in the car. Make sense?

Any tips on that last step?

the slider may be the same for all 996 997 seats. i am not sure.
the black bracket in steel will fit, b/c it work on my seat (the dame one you see in the pic) and has been bolted to 997gt3 and 996gt3.

Thanks. In that picture on the left, how is the aluminium Recaro seat side bracket attached to the sliding oem rail? is there any special adaptor part in between?

U can fit any seat on factory slider. I wouldn't recommend recaro sliders. Very limited front/rear adjustment. Mike

Hope this helps a fellow Aussie out. Here is what I did to put 2 Profi's in my 6GT3. I don't like paying shops and prefere to figure it out myself.

Use this to bolt to the floor -> http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/r9040.php
Use this to bolt to above to give you a slider -> http://www.stableenergies.com/Recaro...fo/REC-SLIDER/
Now bolt either the Recaro side mount on top of the Recaro slider, or a Brey Krause side mount.

For a place to mount the seatbelt receptacle, use -> http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/r9005.php

Hope this helps.
