CEL - "Drive to workshop"- I need advice
I did search. I do not have a code tool...
It's Sunday. I really want to drive the car a lil bit today....
First time to see this light. Car runs fine. I was at the track on Fri. Then drove 50 miles home, etc. No issues.
Washed the car yesterday, and went literally to the liq store and the light came on. NOT flalshing. Dash says "drive to workshop"
Car runs and sound fine.
Is it ok to drive the car a today? Take it in on Monday?
TIA!

You should be OK if the warning is not flashing and your car is running normally. The ride home after a track day can throw a Cat related CEL. A car wash and wet ignition coils, can cause misfire CELs. If you have a Autozone close by, they will read the codes and set your mind at ease.

I can't say if it will be fine, but I have seen that message twice on my car:
1) loose intake
2) o2 sensor. For some reason it detected a fault, but according to the mechanic it was false. I didn't end up replacing the sensor and the car has been fine since.

turned out to have two codes:
1. Cooling fan in op - according to shop it is working fine. Was working fne yesterday as well. We did a reset and will see if it comes back
2. Gas vapor leak of some kind - according to shop, it was a $250 part. Reaplacing it and should be fine.
