Default No More GT3

I am now Porsche-less as the new owner of my 2005 GT3 picked it up today and drove it back to the DC area. I am kind of sad to see it go but I have owned it for 5 years now so it is time to let it move on. Hopefully the new owner will be asking you guys questions about the car or checking in here as this is the first P-car he has owned.

must be hard to live with a car so long and then poof.. its gone.

i love my 996tt but i do get torn my the 997 gt3 and turbo's..

the more i think about it i will likely just get a 997 gt3 in the future and keep the 996tt as well.

then it will be time to add a sensible car to the lot

Seth,

It was great meeting you and thanks for buying and taking care of my car while it was waiting for me to realize that I needed it in my life. I had been contemplating various turbos (996/993) but I'm glad that the Porsche purists around me convinced me to go in this direction instead. The car is just so much more pure, raw, and glorious sounding than any turbo will ever be.

Also thanks again for loaning me your V1 for the 'incident-free' drive back to DC. It was 630 miles made solo in 9.5 hours with two long stops for gas/coffee/food/biological needs ... you do the math (OK that's around 67 MPH average including the 0 mph stops).

The car is setup so well with the Moton suspension and tasteful mods that I'll probably do absolutely nothing to it for a while besides trying to learn how to drive it via some upcoming DE events. It is so responsive and really seems to want to rotate very easily that it scares me a bit right now so the truth is that I'll probably be slower around the track at first than I was in my porky 4100 lb E60 M5 with it's various electronic nannies.

In case you're missing it, I've attached a cell phone pic I took while it was sitting in your driveway for the last time. Honestly I have a hard time feeling bad for you given what's coming to replace it and the toys you still have in the garage!

- Josh

Josh, great meeting you this past weekend and I hope the car treats you well. It was definitely a blast to own.

MKK: Yes that is probably me listed with the Cayman S at Road Atlanta. I will be there coaching the owner of the car. Are you going to the same event?

I love that color and the rear deck.

Are with windows slightly tinted? Not sure if it is just the shade or not
