Default Intermittent ABS light

Hi

Just back from a short trip with a couple of local friends (see https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...w-nitwits.html for info on the trip). At the outset, I got an ABS Failure light.

I had driven about an hour to near our meeting point, pulled into a gas station, shut down, filled up, and when I started the failure msg came up. Drove over to the meting point, shut down, and when I started the failure msg came up again. Drove about 10 minutes, and it went away.

It came back about 100 miles down the road (highway driving), but went away again pretty quickly, and never saw it the remainder of the trip. Total trip for me was 880 mi, so the msg popped up during the first 200 miles.

Any ideas?

Which reminds me that I need to put the Durametric on it to see if any code remains.

Sure check for stored faults, but it is quite common especially driving from an uneven surface to get a failure message from one of the sensors.

Same thing happened to me once or twice for six months. Warning. Maybe three times. Would go off, but not repeat. Check engine would go away. But I eventually found that it was a bad sensor. Not an ABS failure just the ABS sensor.

I have had the same issue several times in the last two years, the last time I did a brake check and the ABS definitly was not working.
