Default Tire Questions - Slick - Intermediate - Wet

Been doing some research but haven't found answers I've been looking for.

I'm looking at tires to accompany my recently upgraded suspension (Motons, 800/1000# springs & monoball virtually everything) and would appreciate some suggestions.

DRY:
I'd like to eventually put slicks on my car but I don't want my ABS going haywire with different sized tires.

What are my options? Michelin Slick, Dunlop Slick, Hoosier Slick?

Or am I stuck with Hoosier R6 as the stickiest?

I have used Nitto NT-01, Pirelli Corsa, Hoosier R6 and MPSC (most often)

INTERMEDIATE:
When it's not dry and it's not pouring I'm sitting in the paddock. Is there something better than a street tire for intermediate use?

If no, best street tire for wet/intermediate?

Hoosier Wets or not wet enough for them?

WET:
I have some Dunlop racing rain slicks (235/640R18 & 280/650R18) and they are unbelievable but they are rather expensive and my set is nearly worn out. Any other options?

Michelin? Hoosier Wet?

I have the Hoosier R100 on now. The 250/650 305/645 combo works fine. Based on Hoosier specs, they are the exact same diameter despite the 5mm difference.

Dry - Hoosier R80 F and R100 Rear or Michelin Cup slicks.

Semi-Wet, - Michelin Intermediate

Really Wet - Dunlop Rains.

What about Toyo RA1's or R888's as intermediates?

I have used several different options on my Cup car, depending on which series I'm racing in. The best tire is the Michelin N1. However, if you're not racing to win the Pirelli slick is pretty good. An intermediate is not needed, the best wet is either the Michelin or Hoosier.

My RS has a combination of Cup/RSR hardware with JRZ RS Pro and 600/800 springs. The car is not used for competition but gets regular use on the track. I use the R6 and plan to get the new Michelin PSS for the wet/street driving.

Don't plan to race but I may in the future in a different car. I consider this ammunition to keep up with the newer cars.

From what I can see dimension wise I should use a 64 or a 65 slick. The N1 rear is much larger than the front. I suspect that will upset my ABS system.

What kind of lifespan can I expect vs. MPSC?

Well - I just tried two different slicks at VIR. One set 265/645/18 front and 305/645/18 rear Hoosiers and also Dunlops 250/640/18 front and 300/650/18 rear.

Overall I preferred the Hoosiers, but I think it's purely because I felt better with a wider tire in the front. Rear Dunlops are quite amazing though. I'm also looking at getting some Pirellis to see what they are like. Just need to settle down on sizing.

For wet or intermediate I would just use full thread RA1 or R888. And since you're not racing you don't really need to spend more money for a little extra grip Hoosier wets offer.

That's just my opinion of course.

Found this rather interesting document: http://www.scribd.com/doc/25197303/M...e-Tire-Catalog

I consider wets like insurance. They are cheaper than stroking a check for the car.

I thought, from on here, that the Kuhmo V710 was one of the preferred options for the dry...?
