Car is a gt3 clubsport, 23000 kms with factory cage - started making a rattle today, sounds like a harnass buckle against the roll cage except that nothing seems to be touching the cage. I tightened all the nuts, exposed the nuts under the carpet and all seem ok. Could this be shock transmitting throught the cage, rattle sounds very tinny. Any ideas what to check next?

Top hats under rear strut mite be cracked. Spray liberal amounts of wd-40 on top of rear strut and see if it goes away. If it does likely culprit. A broken pressure makes similar noise but sounds more in the rear of car then inside cockpit. If from rear also check with exhaust tips are tite. Mike

Thanks Mike, definitely inside the cockpit and on one side only directly behind me so will do tophat test (once my body recovers from half climbing through the bloody cage). How big a job is it to replace and what is the torque on the bolts if not too onerous?
