3M double sided tape... DONE.
Most of the push pins are in EXCEPT the last ones at the ends as John noted above.
I guess screws are in order at this point.

3M double-sided tape between push-pins, leaving essentially no gap. Duct tape over the push-pins to prevent them from popping out with slight deflection. Tried duct tape initially to cover the entire gap, but after a season it looked very ratty. Current method works just fine, looks clean, no issues. Would advise against screws. The pins are a pain in the butt, but they can all go in with a little patience.

For the two last ones you can also use the proper cup rivets that are longer and will fit without issues..
