You think your car has a great 0-60 time....wait until you see the drain time of the tank
I will definitely share with you for your second. I really want your first to be special
Please make sure to have video rolling.................

Neat trick. Depending on how far into the pit my oil pan will be, I might try this.

Recap - There *will* be splashing, especially using a pit.
So my method will be:
1. Drive car over pit (no jackstands).
2. Place oil pan on support as close to the drain as possible (perhaps using bottle trick to avoid splashing)
3. Place cardboard/plastic bags in areas I think might get oily.
4. Perform oil change
Agreed?

Okay, so I just performed my first oil change on my new (to me) 996 GT3. Yes there was some serious splashing of oil. It's been over a year since Dell promised to share his no-splash technique, and I'm hoping for some insight.

The key is the inside of the oil drain. You want to go to a home improvement store (Ace, Lowe's, etc) and pick up one of those CHEAP air filters. Cut it in the form of a circle that will be inserted into the oil drain. The beauty of this method is that when the oil hits the filter is passes through b/c of the porosity but it splashes very little b/c of the dissipation of the oil across the filters slight resistance.
