Personally, I don't think there is anything that comes close to the PFC pads. The 97 is a great entry level pad that lasts forever but the braking isn't anywhere near their "hand of god" pads. The 01 is the ultimate braking pad that I like to refer to as the "hand of god" braking. They don't last long but they stop like nothing you have ever experienced. The 06 is the best of both worlds. Almost the same braking as the 01 (just a slightly lower friction coef.) but have the great slow wear characteristics of the 97.

Right now I run PFC06 in front and PFC01 in rear and the braking is sublime..............

With that said, I can't stand the Pagid pads. The torque curve is not stable as the PFC. The PFC pad is far easier to control when trailbraking from triple digit speeds and having to modulate with the highest degree of sensitivity.

Craig, the Grey's are a higher friction than the black's? What is disc life like compared to the black or the RS29's?
Thanks!

Lotta guys don't like the greys, they are hugely high friction pads.

Blacks and Greys are fairly rough on front rotors, I always rec Yellows up front/ Black out back for the 996 cars which see HD track use.

OK, that's what I'm using now...yellow front and black rear. Thanks for the help.

Me too on the recommendation of Sr. Rouleau.

They seem to work well.

Well, I have Pagids in there now. Going to order PFC 06 front and 01 rear and use them once my current ones are worn to see how they compare. OGRacing has them in stock and offer a great discount, seems hard to beat with overnight delivery!

I've actually heard very good things about the Cobalts, but never tried them myself. I really do like Carbotechs, might have to give them a try, especially at 450 for all 4 wheels!

I'm a big fan of PFC over Pagids. Personally, I didn't like the 06/01 setup, and now run the same on all 4 corners.

What exactly did you not like about the 06/01?

Man - somebody always throws a money ranch in! There is all this talk about having a more aggressive pad in the back.

Well, think about it this way. Right now you have RS-19/97 f/r, they are similar enough to the square set up (06/06) for you to get a feel for the brake bias. If you like the bias where it is now then go with the 06/06 set up. If you'd rather it to favor the rear more then go with a more aggressive 01 rear.

Well, from a braking dynamics perspective you want as much brake in the rear as you can handle.

I'm going to try it. Frankly, that is just part of the fun. I didn't have any problems with the brakes the whole weekend, but of course didn't have anything else to compare it to. So, $500 later I'll have some PFCs to try next time!

Previously ran pagid yellows and didn't like it too much. Now on a set of Motorsport greens (basically pagid blacks) and like them better. They wear quickly though. Going to try PFC line next with a higher friction pad in the rear.

Just out of curiosity... are there any differences in OEM f/r bias on cars with steel vs. carbon brakes? I know the rear pad is the same for both, but a larger diameter rear rotor (350mm vs 330mm) would apply more torque all other things being equal.

Are the majority of folks mixing pads on cars that had steel brakes form the factory? What about those that had carbon rotors to begin with, are you happy with the current rear bias? Thanks.

I run Hawk DTC 60. Sometimes DTC 70 on the rear.

Great setup and feel. A lot of PCar friends and racers use them.
Less $ too.
