Chris R, listen to Mooty.

He has enlightened many to the virtues of wholly sensible, safety related car necessities.

Think LSD. Think safety.

Think alignment. Think safety.

Think suspension. Think safety.

Think gearing. Think safety.

See how easy this is?

Do the Guard or Cup units need to be rebuilt as often as the stock unit? What makes them stronger/better/longer lasting?
Thanks guys

Spoke to Matt and will be sending my diff out for replacement shortly.
I think I'll get that 3.9L motor from sharkwerks while the car is on the lift...
Just kidding. Unless Va122 finds his black card that is.

Plus, you're in the car business so you can probably write off all of this

Doubt CPO would cover the diff, probably treat it as wear and tear as the clutch.

Nice to see the evolution of this thread from just a bit of sound to LSD, to ???

My 996-3 had a diff rebuild covered under CPO... although I have heard that it depends on the dealer...

the skinny is that they get 10 hours of warranty labor to do a job that should not take more than 4 hours... it is win win for the customer and the dealer IMHO...

now the smart guy gets improved internals or just buys a guard diff and gets CPO to cover labor and lets the dealer keep the cpo porsche replacement parts for them to re sell to someone else etc.

free parts and money for the dealer...
