Default 2 questions: do I have the correct coolant and where to buy Excellence mag

So I pull into the Porsche dealer and ask for coolant for a 2004 911 GT3. They ask for the chassis/VIN number, I say I don't have it. They act as though this is a problem, even though I insist they don't need a chassis number. They proceed to pull the product for "996". Long story short, I end up with 2 black bottles of coolant, part number 000 043 301 03. Is that correct?

Second, where can I find Excellence magazine? I want to get the "GT1 based engine" issue I read about on RL. Since I'm not in the USA, I'm having someone get it for me and don't want to make them go from place to place looking for it. Barnes & Nobles?

Thanks.

Saw and read the #189 Excellence mag at Barnes & Nobles the other day.
Coolant did come in a black bottle.

The parts department was being thorough and following correct procedure in asking you for your car's VIN. Porsche parts department managers have told me Porsche ties parts numbers to VINs. In order to ensure the correct and latest part number is found and the corresponding correct part is pulled (or ordered) supplying a VIN when buying parts (or Porsche fluids/supplies) is best.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Let us know if you can't find the Excellence mag you are looking for. Most of us have it and can help out.

Interesting re the VIN v. coolant. Understand why, but wouldn't have expected for coolant. But then again, who's to say that there hasn't been a change.

Second Dell's comment. Always willing to help a RLer, especially in a case like this where it is from a far-away land.

Thanks all. Can anyone confirm 000 043 301 03 is the correct coolant? Or that all 996s use the same coolant?
