Sorry for the dead thread revival part 3 or 4, but I can't seem to find any info on exactly how much additional headroom the 9079 BK mounts actually provide. Yes, the seat sits lower, but with the additional rake does it provide more than 1 inch? Or is the rake not significant enough to make a difference. 6'4" here and plan to order the mounts today.

Oh I also have the GMG roll bar, so I won't be limited sliding the seat back.

Thanks,
Jason

Another revival and update in a 997 GT3 RS.

I'm a proportional 6'6".

I had 996 GT3 Euro seats on sliders and Brey-Krause sidemounts (R-9078 and R-9079). Seats were 3/4" lower in back - though due to significant recline (even in lowest front hole), additional helmet room exceeded 3/4".

I wanted more headroom so I purchased the Brey-Krause R-9044 floor mount w/integrated sub-bar. While it offered enough headroom, it didn't offer enough rearward travel (as described earlier in this thread). Yes, I used the most rearward hole for both the side mount and the mount to floorpan. I don't know why BK makes this product: it's a rare body type that would need the headroom without more legroom than this setup offers.

I then purchased the Brey-Krause R-9080 (driver's sidemount) and R-9042 floormount. The R-9042 offers more rearward adjustment than the R-9044, and the R-9080 sidemounts (using the lowest of three front holes slightly reduces recline versus the lowest of two front holes on R-9078/R-9079). Moreover, if you want even more rearward adjustment, holes can be drilled in the R-9080 sidemount/R-9042 combination. I didn't need it.

If you're tall and need maximum helmet room, go with the R-9042/R-9080. I didn't install sub-bar yet (that should be interesting given seat is almost on floor).

Hope this helps other tall folks.
