GT2RS?

The 2011 2RS? Wouldn't that come w/ the Dynamic Engine Mount similar to the 997.2 GT3RS?

Or you are talking about the "RS" engine mounts? (i.e., 964/993 RS mounts) Usually that's the other choice if one wants to run stiffer engine mounts and prefer to stay w/ Porsche parts.

They probably are the RS mounts. When I purchased the vehicle the stated modifications included the "GT2RS" mounts. They look solid- I just checked. my eyes see it as 964 376 043 80 . Which mount would that be?

So how do you inspect to see if they are bad; do they need to be removed first, visual in place, etc?

997 right, 996 left. The rubber on the 997 is a little beefier, but otherwise the mounts are the same.

I think you meant the other way around, right? The 997 version is on the left, correct?

A couple of close up pics.. I don't have the old one out yet.. will let the shop take care of that when it goes in for inspection / oil change / tranny flush prior to the first DE this year..

Mine's coming this week. I had assumed that the rubber went all the way around so was surprised to see Serge's pics. Oh well.

Going to do that and the Wevo engine mounts. I've got a real hard time leaving well enough alone.

Very interesting.. as the rubber is now on the bracket.. but on the transmission case instead..

If it would fit, that would make a reasonable priced solid mount! (vs. the expensive Cup car unit)

Yes the under car mount is very similar to Cupcar. The 997 has 2 bolts through the carrier/transmission mount. Just had one out of the car. Darn as back in now. The 2 pieces would be about $150. May be a way cheap and obviously still fine alternative to Cupcar solid mount. Bet it is pretty close, but would have to have some measurements first.

The transmission mount went in last week. While I never had problem shifting (I usually shift slowly, ha!), and I am probably not a fast enough driver to tell how this is affecting the handling.. I do know that it was doing something.. !

Before I always get a light buzzing noise in the cabin through the shifter (I think).. basically, when I hold the shifter w/ my hand, the noise goes away, and if I am not touching it, it makes a buzzing noize in certain gears. I always thought that's just the way it is. Maybe there's some trims in the somehow loose..

Not anymore with the new transmission carrier. No more buzzing noise.. !!

Will take some pics of the old transmission carrier when I get it back from the shop, to see how worn it was..
