I am a recent departure from 964-land, am I am interested in a 996 GT3, must be low miles (no stories, little/no track), prefer red or silver. I am Porsche-less and need to rectify that lack with a most visceral 911. I've been tempted by the 997 mk1 GT3, but I think it must be the 6.

The 997 GT3 I drove was fantastic, felt very serious and fastened down, but it fell short of the "religious experience" attained with 6 GT3. Haven't driven the 7 GT3 mk2. Thanks for your input so far.

I also thought the Silver car was priced a little high for the market, but if you plan to track, its got a good start on all the track goodies. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Unless its a track rat, and the front end is sand-blasted, I also would not let track time deter anyone. In my short ownership experience, and fron reading here, the cars are nearly bulletproof (especially when tracked), but a service history gives me a nice warm and fuzzy.

I'm out of practice, but over the past few years I do try to do a handful of DEs a year, but am not a track junkie by any means. I'd buy this car as a weekend fun car, very occasional commuter, and occasional DE. So not sure that I want a car that is set up primarily for track.
